Sony is seemingly refunding Gran Turismo Sport pre-orders

False start.

Sony is cancelling and refunding pre-orders of Gran Turismo Sport, with a recent report by TeamVVV claiming that customers are getting their money back in the wake of the game's recent delay.

Originally planned for release on November 18, Sony pushed the date back to an indefinite 2017 window last week, keeping up the series' tradition of never, ever arriving on time. The decision to refund pre-orders isn't unprecedented but is certainly uncommon - Final Fantasy 15 also recently saw a delay but is honouring pre-orders, though Square Enix's long-awaited RPG does have a definite release date unlike Gran Turismo Sport.

Gran Turismo Sport has had a shaky time since its announce at Paris Games Week last year, its proper unveiling this May proving unremarkable. Impressive progress has been made on Gran Turismo Sport since, so perhaps by the time the game does finally come out it'll look as impressive as some past entries in the series.
