Nintendo dates Wii Sports Resort

For Japan and the West.

Nintendo has said in a Japanese press conference that it will launch Wii Sports Resort, which uses its new MotionPlus peripheral, in June in Japan and July in North America and Europe, according to Reuters.

The July date for the West agrees with a recent leak from European retail.

Wii Sports Resort will be bundled with MotionPlus, and is assumed to be the launch title for the enhanced motion-detection device.

However, we know that MotionPlus-enabled EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis will launch on 18th June in the US, which muddies the waters somewhat.

Hopefully we'll hear Nintendo's exact launch plans for the peripheral soon. In the meantime, find more at the Wii Sports Resort gamepage.
