DOA Code Cronus is X360

Team Ninja confirms.

Dead or Alive Code Cronus is now officially an Xbox 360 game, Tecmo's Tomonobu Itagaki, head of "Team Ninja", has confirmed.

Speaking in his regular column in Famitsu Xbox, the series creator this month confirmed what he had suggested prior to E3 - that the game will appear on Xbox 360 along with Dead or Alive 4, shown at Microsoft's pre-E3 conference, and the successor to Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball.

Actual development only began recently, Itagaki told Famitsu Xbox readers, and the thinking behind the game's transfer to Xbox 360 seems to have been to do with maintaining the developer's reputation for producing the highest-end visuals.

Of course, knowing the platform doesn't get us any closer to finding out what Code Cronus actually is, but that's beside the point. Apparently. Educated guesses have it as some sort of action game.

As it stands, it looks like Ninja Gaiden Black - an amalgam of the original Xbox title and its various Live-distributed updates - will be Team Ninja's last Dead or Alive flavoured release for the original Xbox.
