Limbo reanimated for iPhone and iPad next week

3 million copies now sold.

Atmospheric adventure Limbo will launch for iOS devices next Wednesday, 3rd July, developer Playdead has announced. It'll cost $4.99 (about £3.20).

The celebrated platformer has already sold more than three million copies on Mac, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The announcement comes just a month after Limbo launched for PlayStation Vita. That port was handled externally by Middlesbrough-based studio Double Eleven, whereas the new iOS build comes from Playdead itself.

"We have worked very hard to bring Limbo to as many devices as possible; rethinking the controls and performing extensive optimisations to ensure an amazing touch-based experience across iPad 2 (and higher), iPad Mini, iPhone 4S (and higher) and the latest generation of iPod Touch," a Playdead spokesperson said.

Not bought Limbo yet on Xbox 360? The game is currently half price until 1st July, at 600 Microsoft Points (£5.10).
