It looks like EA is planning a Sims 4 Premium subscription

Save on three upcoming add-ons and get exclusive items.

Eagle-eyed Sims fans have spotted an advert for something called The Sims 4 Premium hidden within a newly-released clip of gameplay footage.

A quick description of the feature suggests it will be a service similar to Battlefield Premium, EA's offer for its shooter series that gives subscribers early access to DLC.

"The Sims 4 Premium. Save on new packs with early access and exclusive items," the description reads.

"Become a Premium member to get early access to three new packs, with exclusive items. Your Sims can throw a spooky costume party, camp in the great outdoors, and toast to the new year in style."

EA has yet to officially announce the offer but we've dropped the publisher a line to ask for comment.

The Sims 4 recently hit headlines after it emerged that several features from earlier versions would not be included at launch. These included your Sims' toddler phase and the ability to install a pool in your Sims' house.

Some fans suggested that this content had been excised to sell separately as DLC at a later date. EA instead blamed the "new technology and systems" it had spent time building for why such features weren't being included as standard.

You can see the split-second advert pop up at the 13:26 mark in the 20-minute long stream below.
