Double Fine's Iron Brigade confirmed for Steam release

Xbox 360 version gets price cut.

Iron Brigade (formerly Trenched) is headed for a PC release via Steam, developer Double Fine has announced.

Double Fine's take on the tower defense genre will be available to download next Monday, 13th August.

The PC version will include DLC add-on pack Rise of the Martian Bear.

The game first launched last year on Xbox Live Arcade. Not had a dabble yet? There's no better time to start - Double Fine today reduced the price from 1200 to 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.80).

"Eschewing the studio's usual focus on world-building and memorable characters in favour of finely tuned multiplayer, Trenched represents a departure for Double Fine," Jeffrey Matulef wrote in Eurogamer's 8/10 Iron Brigade review. "This is a satisfying genre crossover that follows through on what Brutal Legend attempted. I'd chalk that up as a victory."
