Trenched dev forced to abandon title

Double Fine gives up name worldwide.

Moustachioed mech defense title Trenched will become known as Iron Brigade worldwide, developer Double Fine has announced.

The Xbox Live Arcade game has already been renamed Iron Brigade for its belated European release this month. The original title, Trenched, triggered a trademark dispute with an obscure Portuguese board game.

Other regions must make the change to allow worldwide online multiplayer, Double Fine's Brad Muir explained to Whiskey Media (via XBLAFans).

A title update will change the name as well as add a smattering of new weapons, costumes and gestures.

Muir also confirmed plans for paid Iron Brigade DLC.

Iron Brigade (formerly Trenched).
