Christopher Lloyd stars in new Lego Dimensions trailer

1.21 Brickawatts!

Just in case you were worried that there wouldn't be enough additional toy packs released for Lego Dimensions, WB Games has announced even more add-ons - and released a trailer in which Christopher Lloyd reprises his role as Dr Emmett Brown from Back to the Future.

Doc Brown is one of the newly announced Fun Packs, which contain a minifigure and related vehicle. In his case, that's the steam train from Back to the Future Part 3. The iconic DeLorean is already included with the Back to the Future Level Pack, you see, along with Marty McFly and his hoverboard.

Other Fun Packs announced today include two from Ninjago, featuring Sensei Wu and Lloyd, and three from DC Comics, featuring Superman, Aquaman and Bane. There'll also be a DC Comics Team Pack containing Joker and Harley Quinn.

That's on top of the previously announced packs and the core game, which already comes with Gandalf, Wyldstyle from The Lego Movie, Batman and the Batmobile. For those who haven't been keeping up, here's everything else that has been confirmed so far...

Level Packs (also includes a themed gameplay level)

Back to the Future: Marty McFly, Hoverboard, DeLorean

Doctor Who: Twelfth Doctor, TARDIS, K9

The Simpsons: Homer, Sedan Car, TV Set

Portal: Chell, Companion Cube, Turret

Team Packs

Lego Ninjago: Kai, Cole, Blade Bike, Boulder Bomber

Jurassic World: Owen Grady, Blue, ACU, Gyropshere

Scooby Doo: Scooby, Shaggy, Mystery Machine, Super Shaggy Sandwich

Fun Packs

Ninjago: Zane Fun Pack (Zane, Ninjacopter), Nya Fun Pack (Nya, Samurai Mech), Jay Fun Pack (Jay, Stormfighter)

The Lego Movie: Emmet Fun Pack (Emmet, Emmet's Excavator), Unikitty Fun Pack (Unikitty, Cloud Cuckoo Car), Benny Fun Pack (Benny, Benny's Spaceship), Bad Cop Fun Pack (Bad Cop, Police Car)

Lord of the Rings: Legolas Fun Pack (Legolas, Arrow Launcher), Gollum Fun Pack (Gollum, Shelob the Great), Gimli Fun Pack (Gimli, Axe Chariot)

DC Comics: Wonder Woman Fun Pack (Wonder Woman, Invisible Jet), Cyborg Fun Pack (Cyborg, Cyber-Guard)

The Wizard of Oz: Wicked Witch Fun Pack (Wicked Witch, Winged Monkey)

Lego Chima: Laval Fun Pack (Laval, Laval's Speedor), Cragger Fun Pack (Cragger, Cragger's Speedor), Eris Fun Pack (Eris, Eris' Speedor)

The Simpsons: Bart Simpson Fun Pack (Bart, Bart's Soapbox Racer), Krusty the Clown Fun Pack (Krusty the Clown, Krusty's Bike)

Players will be able to bring up to seven Lego characters, gadgets and vehicles into the game using the Toy Pad, and unlike Disney Infinity there will be no restrictions on which characters can be used where. WB also promises that "future expansion pack purchases will continue to work with the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack, even in the fall of next year. No compatibility chart necessary."

By our reckoning, that makes 32 Lego Dimensions packs announced so far. To put that into perspective, there are now over 300 Skylanders toys, and Disney Infinity has over 60 without counting the 2015 additions coming with 3.0. Then there's Nintendo's amiibo as well...

Good luck, parents!
