Capcom lays out Monster Hunter World's future following final content update

Seasonal fests starting regular rotation and more.

Back in October, Capcom released Monster Hunter World's final content update, marking the end of two years' post-launch support, spanning both the core game and Iceborne expansion. Now, however, the developer has revealed what fans can expect from the game here on out.

In a new tweet on the official Monster Hunter Twitter feed, Capcom explained it will be launching a new Monster Hunter World: Iceborne update, known as version 15.10, in early December. This will adjust the Safi'jiiva Red Dragon Siege battle so it properly scales for one or two Hunters, but more notably sees Monster Hunter World's wealth of limited-time content being folded into the game on a more permanent basis.

Capcom says players will be able to access "virtually all" event quests, and that its seasonal Astera/Seliana Festivals will rotate every two weeks.

That makes for a total of five seasonal festival pairs - Spring Blossom Fest/Full Bloom Fest, Summer Twilight Fest/Sizzling Spice Fest, Autumn Harvest Fest/Fun Fright Fest, Winter Star Fest/Holiday Joy Fest, Appreciation Fest/Grand Appreciation Fest - meaning the cycle will rotate back around to the start every ten weeks. However, Capcom has also said it'll be possible to meld festival tickets and VIP tickets at the Elder Melder.

Black dragon Fatalis, a familiar face in the Monster Hunter universe, made its way to Iceborne in October.

As usual, owners of the core game will have access to Astera's various festivals and associated event-specific rewards, while Iceborne owners can also play through Seliana's offerings.

There's no exact release date for December's update just yet, but expect Monster Hunter World's content access changes - which should help keep Hunters occupied until the arrival of Rise on Switch early next year - to come to all platforms simultaneously.
