Destiny 2 No Safe Distance and Red Legion, Black Oil - how to find and defeat Firebase Demolitionist and the Organogel Supply

Everything you need for tackling the EDZ-based Destiny 2 Adventures.

No Safe Distance and Red Legion, Black Oil are two fairly high-level Adventures you'll unlock in Destiny 2, and are available to play from the EDZ area on Earth after finishing most of the main story.

Here on this page, we'll give you a rundown of exactly how to unlock and then complete the two adventures, as well as a note of what rewards you can expect for doing so.

Destiny 2 - No Safe Distance

No Safe Distance is a fairly high-level Adventure, and can be found on the planet Earth's EDZ.

Prerequisites: Complete Unbroken in the main story
Recommended power: 170
Reward: Rare (Blue) loot.

Here's what you need to do to complete the No Safe Distance Adventure and tackle the Firebase Demolitionist:

  • Find a cargo manifest - Head for the marker, kill the Firebase Demolitionist (an extra-tough Centurion), and grab the manifest he drops.

  • Infiltrate the firebase - Head inside and follow the markers.
  • Secure explosives - Take out the Red Legion troops in the hangar, then interact with the three marked explosives.

  • Continue outside - Head through the door on the lower level.
  • Destroy Goliath Tanks - Place the explosives in the marked locations.
  • Arm the explosives - You'll need to hold your position for about two minutes while the explosives arm.
  • Detonate the explosives - Use the marked control panel to make things go boom!

  • Get to safety - Leave the way you came in - you can either run for it, or fight your way out.

This year's Festival of the Lost has arrived - which includes the Book of the Forgotten and Jurassic Green to unlock. Elsewhere in Season of the Lost, there are new Exotics such as the Ager's Scepter and the long-awaited arrival of crossplay. New activities include the Wayfinders Voyage, the Astral Alignment activity and finding Atlas Skew, Trivial Mystery, Enigmatic Mystery, Ascendant Mystery, Data Cache, Parallax Trajectory and Ascendant Anchor locations. Elsewhere, we've seen new Nightfall weapons such as the Uzume RR4, Plug One.1 and Hung Jury SR4. Other recent new features include transmog and materials Synthstrand, Synthcord and Synthweave, the Splicer Gauntlet and Decrypted Data used to upgrade it.


Destiny 2 - Red Legion, Black Oil

Red Legion, Black Oil is a fairly high-level Adventure, and can also be found on the planet Earth's EDZ.

Prerequisites: Complete the story mission Unbroken
Recommended power: 170
Reward: Rare (Blue) loot.

Here's what you need to do to complete the Red Legion, Black Oil Adventure and tackle finding the Organogel Supply:

  • Collect Organogel Samples - Kill five Legionaries with headshots and collect the item they drop.

  • Find the Organogel Caches - Head for the marker and make your way into the upper level of the ship.

  • Deal with the Organogel Supply/Sabotage the Organogel Supply - The large hangar contains a contingent of Red Legion to deal with. Once the coast is clear, interact with the marked locations around the area.

  • Escape the Ship - Leave the way you came.
  • Draw Out Gunships - Stand on the marked platform, and watch the fireworks.
