Nintendo has made the Wii Internet Channel available for free in all territories.

The channel allows users to roam around the web via the Opera browser. It previously cost 500 Wii Points to download (around £3.50 / €5).

So what if you've already coughed up? Well, Nintendo is offering compensation in the form of a free NES title from Virtual Console.

The game will be available in late October and details of how to claim will be announced on the Nintendo of Europe website.
