Watch: Ian plays the first five hours of Breath of the Wild on the Wii U

Link goes live at 12pm.

It's finally here! After what seems like an eternity, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been released into the, erm, wild. Think about it, at this very moment Nintendo fans the world over will be excitedly tearing into the packaging of their new Switch console, Zelda cart in hand, ready to begin an epic adventure.

Not I though. I chose to cancel my Switch pre-order at the last minute and instead opted to go for the cheaper option, a copy of Breath of the Wild for the Wii U.

But anyway, that's enough talk about how tight with money I am. It's Breath of the Wild day and to celebrate, I'll be streaming the first four hours of Link's adventure, starting at 12pm GMT.

It's a bit of an epic stream and, as I understand it, it's dangerous to go alone. Not to worry, I've picked up some essential Zelda style snacks to keep me going, although that's not as exciting as it sounds, I've basically just got a bowl of nuts and berries on my desk.

See you in Hyrule!
