Ubisoft snaps up Watch Dogs movie domains

Big plans for lauded new action IP?

Ubisoft has grabbed a number of web URLs pertaining to a potential movie version of just-announced new action IP Watch Dogs.

As spotted by Fusible, the French publisher registered a number of domains last month, including WatchDogsmovie.com, WatchDogsthemovie.com Watch-Dogsmovie.com and Watch-Dogsthemovie.com.

While it's not firm confirmation that a movie is in the works, Ubisoft certainly does not lack ambition when it comes to courting Hollywood.

Rumours of both Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell flicks have been flying around of late, and the publisher recently set up a department dedicated to getting its big franchises onto the silver screen.

For more on Watch Dogs, which follows a mysterious protagonist who has the power to hack into any system in Chicago and use it to his advantage, refer back to our in-depth E3 preview.
