Ubisoft grabs Virgin for online tournies

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier first up.

Ubisoft has signed up to Virgin Gaming's online-multiplayer-tournaments-for-cash idea.

The first of Ubisoft's flock on the service will be Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier this autumn.

And that's just the start: Laurent Detoc commented that Ubisoft had a whole "line-up" of multiplayer titles "this year" that will be a "perfect fit" for the Virgin Gaming service.

Virgin Gaming requires members to pay cash to win cash; no entry fee, no jackpot.

Games are organised on the Virgin Gaming website but played out on console. A "Game Validator" checks the result of the game against your PSN ID or Gamertag and the information is plugged back in to the Virgin Gaming network.
