Twisted Metal's Sweet Tooth alternate endings revealed

Jaffe: This "will be the last Twisted Metal game made."

Twisted Metal lead David Jaffe has revealed two alternate endings to the Sweet Tooth campaign in the latest Twisted Metal reboot.

The developer has released two internal documents portraying in-production videos of the alternate conclusions on his blog.

It goes without saying that massive spoilers follow.

In the second ending Sophia would not have been Sweet Tooth's daughter, but rather a female counterpart that he falls deeply in love with until she cuts his head off. Love makes fools of us all, it would seem.

The final ending shifts the hospital massacre scene to the third act where Sweet Tooth encounters his mentally disturbed daughter on the top floor who says that some part of him is still good and that's why he can't bring himself to kill her. He drops his machete only to kick her out the window instead. Oh, that Sweet Tooth.

Evidently this wasn't always the case. Initially the game was aiming for a T rating in the US in which Sweet Tooth would have spared his daughter's life. But once the M rating was greenlit Jaffe decided to go all out, as the merciful conclusion wouldn't have made sense for the character.

Elsewhere in the blog post, Jaffe stated that this would probably be the last Twisted Metal game. "Hope the TM fans out there have dug some of the 'what could have been' stuff from what I am fairly certain will be the last Twisted Metal game made. At least for a very, very long time!"

This is not surprising given that he announced his departure from the game's development studio Eat,Sleep, Play back in February.
