Total War: Rome 2 will be sold on disc as well as digitally

Caesar changing times.

A Roman!

Total War has been around for longer than a decade, its numerous instalments familiar sights on shop shelves. But in recent Steam-years things have changed for PC games: most copies are distributed digitally.

Stately though the Total War series may be, the day will surely come when Creative Assembly and Sega ditch boxed Total War sales completely.

Will that day be sometime late next year when Total War: Rome 2 goes on sale? No, although given the speed of the digital transition it's not a wild assumption to make.

"We will be releasing a physical copy of Rome 2," Creative Assembly PR assured me today. And who knows? Maybe someone will put a toga in it.
