Titanfall 2 is getting a new pilot-only multiplayer mode

Along with more free maps.

Esteemed first-person shooter Titanfall 2 is getting a new mode and some new maps as part of its next free update.

The new mode will be a 6vs6 pilot-only affair entitled Live Fire. Set to a strict timer of only a minute, Live Fire doesn't allow respawns. Whichever team survives or is able to hold onto the neutral flag at the end of the round wins. A match consists of playing these brief rounds in a best of five capacity.

Since Live Fire is contingent on tight, smaller stages, Respawn has created two new maps exclusive to this mode: Stacks and Meadow. You can catch a glimpse of these more bite-sized arenas in the trailer below:

The next update will also add a new Coliseum map called Columns, along with a new pilot execution and new Commander intros for each faction.
