Terraria gets Collector's Edition, retail release

Acclaimed PC indie racks up 1 million sales.

Eccentric PC indie side-scroller Terraria gets a full retail release on 16th March, publisher Merge Games has announced.

Priced at £19.95, it's packaged as a Collector's Edition, including an exclusive in-game item, poster, a key-ring and trading cards. Check out all the swag in the image below.

That price is considerably dearer than the original download version, which sells for £5.99 on Steam.

Still, considering the quality on offer, we shouldn't begrudge developer Re-Logic a few extra pennies for its efforts.

"There's a reason Terraria has sold a few hundred thousand copies in the first few months it's been on sale," read Eurogamer's 8/10 Terraria review.

"It's because, if Terraria really does have a bottom, no one can be bothered to go find it. They're having far too much fun on the surface, and the spaces in between."

Merge's announcement also mentioned that the game has now been downloaded over a million times since its launch last year.
