Sega was Japan's top publisher last month

Sega made more money from software in Japan last month than any other publisher, beating perennial kingpin and ancient rival Nintendo into second place.

According to new Famitsu data, as reported by Andriasang, that measures games' prices against their sales, Sega had a 20.9 per cent revenue share last month.

That figure is mostly off the back of bonkers PlayStation 3 mobster/zombie mash-up Yakuza: Of The End, which sold 376,00 copies at a steep ¥7,980 each (about £62.50).

Nintendo came in second with 14.8 per cent of the market, fueled by strong sales of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, priced at a more modest ¥4,800 (around £37.60).
