PSN update stuffed with new content

Games, LBP costumes, songs, Hasselhoff.

Sony has crammed plenty of content onto the PlayStation Store this week.

The most of expensive bits are full downloadable versions of PSP games FIFA 09 (GBP 29.99) and puzzler The Cube (GBP 15.99), which we had no idea were turning up.

However, the most interesting - for us at least - are the new costumes for LittleBigPlanet. Yes, we do like dressing up. There's a free Sack-eating-plant outfit, and four more costumes at GBP 0.79 each: Lily Pad, Hugo (a gorilla), Great Blue and Frost-e. These are bundled together in an Animal Costumes pack for GBP 2.39.

Soulcalibur IV is also playing fancy dress, and has five packs with varying outfits from school uniforms to maid garb to Halloween-themed attire. Three of the costumes are GBP 0.79, while the remaining two are GBP 1.59.

David Hasselhoff is on the PlayStation Store, too, as part of a PAIN update. He can be bought for GBP 1.19, or you can grab the Movie Studio area expansion for GBP 3.99.

Then there are the piles of songs for Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2.

For Guitar Hero World Tour there is the Hendrix pack for GBP 3.99, which contains "Fire (Live from Woodstock)", "If 6 Was 9" and "Little Wing". Oasis songs "Waiting For The Rapture", "Bag It Up" and "The Shock Of The Lightning" are on the store for GBP 1.49, as is Bond theme "Another Way to Die" by Jack White and Alicia Keys.

There's more: an REM pack for GBP 3.99, containing "Man-sized Wreath", "Horse to Water" and "Supernatural, Superserious". You can buy these for GBP 1.49 each, too (although one is GBP 1.59, bizarrely).

Moving over to Rock Band, and we have "The Colour and the Shape" album by the Foo Fighters for GBP 9.99, or you can buy the 12 individual songs for a pound each.

Elsewhere there is a character pack for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which costs GBP 3.99 and adds people such as (good) Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker.

You could also snap up a Civilization Revolution Terrestrial Map Pack for GBP 0.79, or save pennies by opting for the free Elemental Map Pack instead.

Apart from that, there are just bits and bobs like a Far Cry 2 wallpaper and GT5 Prologue theme.

There's this "Shoot" collection of six short films from up-and-coming directors, too, which is accompanied by a Making Of feature with interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. Quite interesting.

That's it.
