PS4 exclusive Deep Down is a free-to-play game

Open beta due upon Japan release of console in February 2014.

Capcom's PS4 exclusive Deep Down will be a free-to-play game, it emerged over the weekend, with an open beta due around the time of the release of Sony's new console in Japan in February next year.

The news came during a Capcom presentation at Tokyo Game Show, with Shuhei Yoshida helping get the message across on Twitter. Deep Down's a procedurally generated dungeon crawler that looks to be equal parts Assassin's Creed and Dark Souls. Tom Phillips had a look at Deep Down for us in Tokyo last week and came away impressed.
