Oculus Rift press event lined up for June

VR we waiting?

Oculus is holding a pre-E3 press event in San Francisco. The Facebook-owned VR company has sent invites to the tech press with a date of 11th June and a moody image of what is presumably the final consumer model of the Oculus Rift headset.

We know that the device is expected to go on sale in early 2016, with pre-orders set to begin later this year. It seems sensible, then, that they're finally ready to unveil the finished hardware and - fingers crossed - show off some of the commercial games and apps that will be available.

And, of course, getting word out there before E3 means they can beat Sony's Morpheus to the first wave of headlines.
