October's NPD results are in and a big winner is Uncharted 2, with 537,000 units sold.

But with exclusives like Wii Fit Plus in second (441,000) and Wii Sports Resort in fourth (314,000) Nintendo's Wii has regained dominance in the US, and shifted a meaty 506,900 units.

Last month's leader, Sony's PS3, finished as second best console (320,600), while Microsoft's Xbox 360 had to be content with third (249,700).

Borderlands proved to be a strong October seller in third (418,000), as did - predictably - NBA 2K10 (Xbox 360: 311,000 / PS3: 213,000), Halo 3: ODST (271,000) and Forza Motorsport 3 (175,000) - despite a late October launch.

DS game Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is in ninth (169,000) and FIFA Soccer 10 drummed up surprising support (Xbox 360: 156,000) to finish 10th. Must be those college kids. Or David Beckham.

Elsewhere, PSP posted poor results (174,600) in the face of the PSPgo launch (1st October), and was easily trounced by Nintendo's DS (457,600). PS2, as old as the Earth itself, bottomed the pile (117,800).

October also represented a worrying start for Activision's DJ Hero campaign, as all four SKUs - PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 - combined to sell a measly 122,000 units.

Brutal Legend also missed out, but by a much slimmer margin (Xbox 360: 150,000 / PS3: 66,000).
