More Rugby from EA

Mad props.

EA has announced a new electronic rugglesby game called EA Sports Rugby 06, currently in development in collaboration between EA Canada and HB Studios for PS2, Xbox and PC.

Apparently it's been set-up to encourage attacking, momentum-driven rugby thanks to things like off-load passes, quick line-outs, quick penalties and lots of preset plays. It also has all sorts of lovely things that you could put trademark symbols after pretty easily really, like star "Impact Players".

Plus all the usual TV-style presentation, a decent number of real tournaments (Six Nations, Lions Tour, Tri Nations, Guinness Premiership, Super 14), and commentary from Ian Robertson and former All Black Grant Fox.

We reckon the final effort will be out in spring, since that's when the not-rubbish-honest Rugby 2005 came out this year. Look forward to it, but only throw backwards.
