UPDATE: Director Hajime Tabata has blamed the game's delay on the PlayStation Network hack.
Tabata told Famitsu (via Andriasang) that the stoppage of the PlayStation Network service had some effect on the game's multiplayer component, making it require a bit extra time beyond the original plan. The development staff is currently working on this area of the game.
ORIGINAL STORY: PlayStation Portable game Final Fantasy Type-0 has 100 hours worth of play for those who seek out all its secrets.
The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu, translated by Andriasang, reveals that those who simply wish to get through the 3D combat game will spend 30 to 40 hours doing so.
The game is 80 per cent complete, and as a result will release in Japan in the autumn. In January it was pegged for launch in the summer. What this means for the game's as yet unannounced western release is unknown.
Apparently Type-0 will have fighting game elements, such as movement cancelling. The game's version of veteran Final Fantasy summon monster Shiva is described as "sexy".
There are 14 main characters, down from the 40 the team aimed for at one point during development.
Final Fantasy Type-0 was once called Final Fantasy Agito XIII. It is one of a number of games in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series of Final Fantasy titles.
It is so big it will ship on two UMDs – the first PSP game to do so. Creator Square Enix is "looking into the possibility" of a download version of the game.
