New Dark Souls 3 speedruns have emerged shattering the previous record.
When it comes to making a beeline to the end credits, there's Japanese YouTuber muzi_nasu who raced through From's latest in one hour, 23 minutes, and 18 seconds based on the in-game timer (though their real-life timer read 1:29:10 to account for load times).
What's even more impressive is Twitch user Distortion2 who blazed through the game in one hour, 27 minutes and 45 seconds (or 1:34:05 in real-time) and killed every optional boss. That's only an additional four minutes and 27 seconds to run to and defeat five more bosses.
I'm sure we'll see plenty more record-breaking speedruns as Dark Souls 3 launches internationally on 12th April. Eurogamer contributor Rich Stanton awarded it our rare Essential award in his Dark Souls 3 review, while I called its opening couple dozen hours "astonishingly entertaining" in my Japanese import impressions. I've since rolled credits on the title and can say that the third act sticks the landing, offering many of the game's finest moments.
