CD Projekt unveils The Witcher prequel board game Kickstarter

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt has announced a Kickstarter funding program for a new The Witcher board game.

The Witcher: Old World will be a prequel to the studio's Geralt of Rivia game trilogy, in which players become a young Witcher of their own making and set off to battle monsters.

As in the games - and Netflix's TV show - you'll take on contracts, face difficult choices, and possibly have to duff up other Witchers from time to time. Here's a video from the game's developer Lukasz Wozniak explaining more:

The Kickstarter project has been announced now ahead of its actual funding drive. That won't take place until April or May, though you can sign up to be notified exactly when it does.

Both English and Polish language versions of the game will be produced, with CD Projekt on board to help publish it.

In the meantime, CD Projekt currently has its hands full with all things Cyberpunk 2077, as well as dealing with this week's shocking hack of its data.
