Super Mario Odyssey - Pass to the Secret Flower Field and Defend the Secret Flower Field!

How to complete the Wooded Kingdom objective.

Pass to the Secret Flower Field and Defend the Secret Flower Field! are objectives you'll encounter a fair chunk of the way through Super Mario Odyssey, which follow on from Super Mario Odyssey - Flower Thieves of Sky Garden and how to beat the Fat Broodal.

You'll find our full walkthrough for them here, whilst you can head back to our main Super Mario Odyssey guide, walkthrough and tips hub for plenty more on all aspects of the game!

Pass to the Secret Flower Field

You'll start back at the Odyssey once vanquishing the Broodal boss. Follow the path as it curves around and pass through the opening you previously made by answering the Sphynx's riddle.

On the other side, you'll encounter two new enemies - Sherms. This tanks are relatively easy to flank, so throw Capy at one then use your cannon to blow the other one up (aim with the right analog stick and shoot with 'Y')

Turn around and shoot the doorway blocked with a stone block. De-possess the Sherm and head through the doorway. Throw Capy at the Steam Gardener then lob the seed into the circular patch of soil.

Climb the beanstalk that appears and climb to the top. Run over the checkpoint to activate it (Forest Charging Station). Head to the right-hand side with the Goombas, climb up onto the far platform, then possess one of the Sherms and destroy the other two.

Now destroy the large wall to your left and climb the platforms you've revealed to the reach the top. Now activate the checkpoint (Summit Path).

Use the white flowers to boost your speed. Line yourself up with the slope that has the gold rings, then throw Capy at a flower.

When Capy returns to you you'll fly up the slope at super speed, but you won't have much control so be sure to be in the right direction before you use one. Turn left near the top to land on the platform.

Activate the checkpoint in front of you (Iron Mountain Path, Station 8). Run to the top of the ramp, possess the nearest Sherm and destroy the other two. A revolving cannon on the other side of this platform will start launching black bombs at you.

Blow them up or move around them and get close enough to see the four Bowser faces on revolving around the cannon. Destroy each one to reveal your Moon.

Defend the Secret Flower Field!

Run up the ramp and activate the checkpoint (Secret Flower Field Entrance) and drop down the giant hole. At the bottom, possess the Uproot, head to the middle of the giant robo flower and stretch up to cause it some problems. After a short cutscene, an impromptu boss fight begins.

This giant robot flower fight is all about using the Uproot, so don't de-possess it at any point. When you begin, there will be three blue pods protected by cubes of grey stone. Stretch up to destroy each one, while avoiding the lasers it targets you with. Destroy all three, then stretch in the middle of the robot to damage it.

Need more help? Our Super Mario Odyssey guide and walkthrough goes through every objective in each Kingdom, while our Power Moon locations can help you track down the likes of Cascade Kingdom Power Moons, Sand Kingdom Power Moons, Metro Kingdom and New Donk City Power Moons and more collectables. We also have Purple Coin locations for each Kingdom, and if you want to know what to spend it on, we have a hats list, outfits list, stickers list, a souvenirs list as well as a music list to kit out the appearance of both Mario and the Odyssey. Once you've finished the game, check out the free Balloon World update, too.

The boss will now start sending laser shockwaves out, starting three two single shockwaves, then one that's three bands high. Use the stretch to jump high enough over each one.

Repeat the process twice more, but beware that the laser bands that follow will get progressively higher and faster so get your timing right. Claim your Multi Moon when the boss is done.

You'll need 16 Moons to leave for the next kingdom, so find eight more to engage the globe and power up the Odyssey.
