Tony Hawk-compatible network adapters

Go online with your PS2 and Tony from day one!

It's taken a bit of time coming, but we've finally gotten our hands on a list of USB modem and Ethernet adapters that should be compatible with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. It seems that Ethernet adapters based on the ADMtek Pegasus AN986 chipset are compatible, which means quite a sizeable list of North American adapters and a few you can pick up in Europe. Enjoy this…

Billionton Systems USBE-100B / USBE-100N

Cadmus Micro USBE-100C

Corega USB100

D-Link DU-E100

D-Link DSB-650TX

EdiMax USB Father Ethernet Adapter 10/100 EU-4201

Hawking USB 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter (UF100)

Jinco USB Ethernet Adapter 10/100 Base-T UE-110

Kouwell USB to Ethernet 588A

LinkSys EtherFast 10/100 USB100TX

NetLINE 10/100 USB Adapter PN796

SMC EZNET-USB 2102

These Ethernet adapters will be good for use with cable modems and PPPoE ADSL accounts, we reckon, as well perhaps as networking with other PlayStation 2 consoles directly. At present we know of a pitiful two USB modems compatible with Mr. Hawk, the Actiontec Call Waiting USB modem and one from Conexant/Cadmus. Again, we don't know much about the protocols involved in connecting Tony Hawk to the Internet and/or other PS2 consoles, so don't say we didn't warn you. We'll be trying these out ourselves shortly after the game's launch later this month. Related Feature - PS2 gets first online game
