Animated film Dead Space Aftermath will release on Blu-ray and DVD on 24th January.

The DVD costs £16, the Blu-ray £20. It carries an 18 certificate, and lasts 84 minutes.

Aftermath is made by some of the team responsible for Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic, and features voice acting from Christopher Judge (Stargate SG-1) and Peter Woodward (Babylon 5, Fringe). The plot is based on the after-events of the first responder mission to the Aegis VII in Dead Space, and aims to provide back-story to Dead Space 2.

When it comes to animated films, Dead Space has form. Dead Space: Downfall was an animated prequel film to Dead Space released in 2008. A double pack featuring both films will be released alongside Aftermath on 24th January.

The films are part of what EA calls the "trans-media Dead Space franchise". There's the game, films, comic books, graphic novels and all sorts of gubbins.
