Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has been voted the 42nd most influential person in the world by readers of the TIME website.

The Mario, Zelda and Wii Fit maker topped the poll last year, but now falls behind the likes of rapper Lil' Wayne and South Korean pop star Rain.

Miyamoto's 614,641 votes and average rating of 9 per cent do beat Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, however, who are at 44 and 45 respectively.

But it's 4chan.org's creator "moot" that absolutely storms the list, amassing an enormous 16.8m votes and an average rating of 90 per cent. To put that into perspective, second place's Anwar Ibrahim - the former deputy prime minister of Malaysia who faces sodomy charges - only finishes with 2.3m votes and an average rating of 47 per cent.

Miyamoto must try harder.
