Super Meat Boy on the way for WiiWare

It's a platformer from creator of Gish.

Indie game artist Edmund McMillen is recreating his Flash platformer Meat Boy for WiiWare.

Super Meat Boy will be a rebuilt and expanded version of the famously hard game, in which a cube of meat attempts to rescue his girlfriend Band-Aid Girl from a villainous foetus.

McMillen has a thing for unconventional heroes - his commercially released cult PC platformer Gish stars a blob of tar.

Super Meat Boy is "fast-paced and extremely challenging", according to the press release, and will feature over 100 levels, competitive and co-op multiplayer and plenty of unlockables.

You can follow the game's development at the Super Meat Boy blog.
