Battlefield 2 in June, Modern Combat in 2005

The Swedish developer's financials clarify the onset of war.

Digital Illusions' latest financial report, released this week, has confirmed the suggestion that multiplayer PC first-person shooter Battlefield 2 will not be released until the second quarter.

"The release date of Battlefield 2 has now been set to June 2005," the statement reads. "This implies that Digital Illusions will not be making any game releases in the first quarter of the current year." Well yes it rather does.

Meanwhile, the statement reiterates that console adaptation Battlefield: Modern Combat will be released in 2005, with PS2, Xbox and a version for "Microsoft's forthcoming platform" all due out before the end of the year.

Both titles will be published by EA.
