Super Smash Bros. details

Sakurai spills the beans.

Those excited by the prospect of forthcoming Wii title Super Smash Bros. may already know that the game's creator, Masahiro Sakurai, likes to keep everyone informed about how it's coming along via his blog.

Problem is, it's all in Japanese - but the good news is that a fan has been hard at work translating the info into English, as reported by 1up.

Hence we now know that a Fire Emblem character could make an appearance in the game, along with Mario, Link and Solid Snake. As previously announced, you'll be able to play the game online, but it'll all be pretty simple stuff - there won't be any leaderboards, for example.

In fact, the game itself is also designed to be quite simple, in that players new to the series should be able to pick up and play with ease. Sakurai has also said that a DS version could turn up at some point, although there isn't one in development just yet.

Head on over to the Smashboards forum to read all the details.
