In Gears 5 Horde mode, characters have ultimates

And you can play as Jack.

The Coalition has revealed Gears 5's Horde mode.

Perhaps the headline change to Gears' famous five-player co-op defense mode is the addition of ultimates for the various characters.

JD calls in an airstrike, for example. Fahz's X-Ray ultimate lets him see through walls. Kait can turn invisible. You can also play as Jack, Gears' famous helpful bot. Jack flies across the stage, offering support and dishing out area of effect attacks. Its ultimate, called Hi-Jack, lets him control an enemy.

Gears 5 Horde is more aggressive, in the sense you'll want to capture "power taps", which help you grow your power. The idea here is you and your friends shouldn't just camp in one area for 50 waves. To go far you'll want to expand your base to capture taps.

Gears 5 comes out 6th September on Xbox One and PC, including Steam.
