Nintendo 3DS XL Circle Pad Pro confirmed

The 3DS XL, Nintendo's upcoming super-sized version of the 3DS, will gets its own Circle Pad Pro attachment.

While the 3DS XL features larger screens and an overall larger form factor, Nintendo did not include a second circle pad on the device. And its caboose is so big that it won't be able to squeeze into the current Circle Pad Pro attachment.

Never fear. An XL-sized version of the Circle Pad Pro will be released later in the year, Famitsu reports (via Andriasang).

Japan chart: Vita sales creep up

Street Fighter X Tekken, Metal Gear 3D, Unit 13 debut.

The Vita recorded its first weekly Japanese sales upswing in some time last week, albeit a miniscule one.

Sony's slow-off-the-blocks handheld shifted 10,041 units in the country over the last seven days - that's an increase of 18 units over the week prior.

The 3DS was the top-selling system yet again with 68,951 sold, down slightly on the 70,744 it managed last week.

Demos of Resident Evil: Revelations and Cooking Mama 4 will be available from the 3DS eShop tomorrow, Nintendo has revealed.

These are the first demos on 3DS, although Nintendo plans plenty more.

A Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D demo is due at some point, presumably before the full game arrives in Europe on 8th March.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D will sneak onto 3DS on 8th March in Europe, Konami has announced.

Snake Eater 3D is an update of PS2 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

The game comes with refreshed visuals and will be the second 3DS game in Europe to support the Circle Pad Pro expansion, which adds an extra slider pad to the handheld. The peripheral launches first with Resident Evil: Revelations on 27th January.
