Ex-Rockstar devs set up new studio

Double 11 working on new iPhone game.

Two former Rockstar Leeds developers have set up their own digital games studio, Double 11.

Lee Hutchinson and Matt Shepcar previously worked on games like GTA: Chinatown Wars, Liberty City Stories, Beaterator and The Warriors. Now they're producing their very own iPhone game.

"The uptake of smart phone gaming is really exciting, particularly with the iPhone, and we're looking forward to experimenting with tilt and touch control and exploiting the GPS and internet connectivity," said Hutchinson.

"There's also cool stuff like integration with social networking sites like Facebook with new networks like OpenFeint which allow players to share their experiences with their friends."

Hutchinson was speaking to good old GamesIndustry.biz - visit the site for more of what he had to say.
