Crytek declares war on Crysis 2 cheaters

You have been warned.

Crytek has promised to eradicate Crysis 2 exploits and punish those who use them.

In a statement released on the game's official site, the German developer issued a stark warning to those who cheat.

"We do take cheating very seriously here at Crytek," it said. "We are currently taking steps to permanently remove exploits from Crysis 2 and to penalize those individuals that choose to utilize them.

"We thank you for your patience and want to ensure you that we will continue to work hard to keep the integrity of Crysis 2 intact and cheat-free."

Crysis 2 is currently the UK's number one game.

It's also publisher EA's biggest UK launch of 2011.That means the 8/10 shooter developed by Crytek has enjoyed a bigger opening weekend than Dragon Age II, Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm and Fight Night Champion - the games EA has already released this year.

Crysis 2 marks the series first multi-platform foray. Wrote Eurogamer reviewer Simon Parkin: "Story aside, Crysis 2 is a hell of a video game about shooting stuff. It's challenging, facilitates and then demands the use of tactics, and is more generous in scale than almost any other first-person shooter of the past few years.
