2K Games has apparently slipped Borderlands for PC to 30th October, a week later than its console cousins.

IGN reports comments from 2K PR Charlie Sinhaseni confirming the change, which will also see the North American PC version released on 26th October.

We've asked 2K in Europe for super-duper, double-decker confirmation, but it looks like "optimisation", in Sinhaseni's words, has done the deed. (Update: Yep, 2K Europe says the same thing.)

The rather excellent-looking Borderlands is a first-person shooter with hefty RPG leanings, in which up to four players romp around the far-flung planet of Pandora mashing up native creatures and unruly cowboy types and then gathering loot, including a massive, procedurally-generated stack of weapons.

Look out for an extended hands-on with some near-final code in the next little while, but in the meantime there's no shortage of content on the gamepage, including Johnny's hands-on from a recent event and a Borderlands Eurogamer TV Show.
