BC Rearmed live on PAL PSN

Along with the A-to-Z search tool.

When Thursday came and went without Bionic Commando Rearmed appearing on the PAL PlayStation Store, we all anticipated another agonising week of twiddling thumbs and cursing the rigours of multi-language localisation - ever the bane of PSN releases in Europe - but lo and behold! Capcom and Sony have finished early and posted the game on the Store tonight.

"Great news! We are pleased to announce that the full game version of Capcom's Bionic Commando Rearmed will be making its way onto the PlayStation Store, later this evening; our apologies for the delay," a community forum post noted - and Eurogamer readers report that it is there for the GBP 6.99 / EUR 9.99 Capcom previously announced. Apparently there's a demo too.

Bionic Commando Rearmed, as you will know if you've checked out our review - for which we played both Xbox Live Arcade and PSN builds - is a 2D side-scrolling platform shooter with a grappling hook instead of a jump button. The design - a re-imagining of the brilliant NES original - is an acquired taste in these modern days of mobile phones, votes for hamsters and feeble Friday evening jokes sustaining media empires, but perseverance is recommended. 8/10, we said.

Also on the PlayStation Store this evening is the promised A-to-Z search feature and of course then there's the contents of this week's regular PSN update, which brought us downloadable PSone titles Sheep and Driver (GBP 3.49 each, compatible with PS3 and PSP) and demos of Monster Madness: Grave Danger, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 and Facebreaker.

Look out for a special Bionic Commando Rearmed treat on Eurogamer on Monday. All we'll say is it's interactive.
