Pokémon Sword and Shield Glimwood Tangle - available Pokémon, items and trainers

Our complete walkthrough for Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Glimwood Tangle is a dimly lit forest route, and follows on from Stow-on-Side and the Gym battle with Bea or Allister in your quest through Pokémon Sword and Shield's main story.

On each page of our walkthrough like this, we'll cover any and all of the obtainable Pokémon, item locations, trainers and their teams that you might come across here, as well as walking you through any key steps of the story, puzzles or challenges along the way.

Where applicable, note that our walkthrough pages will be down into separate sections referring to each of your visits to a given location, seeing as you often backtrack or revisit various places in your quest to become Galar League Champion. And of course if there are any, we'll clearly mark any spoilers, too!

For more explainers, meanwhile, or walkthrough pages on more locations in Sword and Shield, head back to our main Pokémon Sword and Shield walkthrough and guide hub.

Pokémon Sword and Shield: Glimwood Tangle - available Pokémon, items and trainers

The Glimwood Tangle is a lot simpler than it seems at first, don't worry. There are a handful of items and interesting wild Pokémon to catch here, plus a couple of trainers, as usual, and that's about it!

The main thing to note is that you can touch the glowing mushrooms to make them light up, helping you out with visibility - although it's still light enough to see what you're doing without using the mushrooms anyway. Touch a pink one, mind, and you'll probably end up in a battle with a cheeky little Impidimp.

To collect everything in the Glimwood Tangle, here's what to do:

  1. Go left from the entrance, battle a cook, and then go down through the grass, which takes you on a loop to the left and back to that trainer again, then go back to the entrance area.
  2. Now go right, collect the hidden item by the big tree stump, and up to the double battle. Hang left in front of them to a dead end for an item.
  3. Go up and left from either the double battle or the item (it doesn't matter which). There's a single battle there, and then you can go down for a quick loop left.
  4. After that lower loop, go left again but this time for a loop taking you upwards, with a ledge to jump off.
  5. After jumping down those two ledges at the top of that second loop, head right and up to the exit. Simple!

If you want the shortest route through, just hand right all the way and go straight up - it's dead easy!
