Arkham City! Mass Effect 3! Witcher 2!

I'm only a few hours in to The Witcher 2. So far it's been mostly very impressive, but there are a few odd design decisions hamper that my enjoyment somewhat. The combat targeting is a little erratic, and the checkpointing is not perfectly paced (but I just tend to use quicksaves).

Deal of the week

Battlefield 3 [Limited Edition] – £31.11 delivered on Xbox 360/PS3. £23.19 delivered on PC - Apply coupon "PREORDER20"

One of the better looking games to come out of E3 so far, Battlefield 3 wowed the audience with new footage of a tank section. It looked like real tanks, in a real desert, shooting real bullets. Or near enough anyway. Al previewed an early PC build, and this is what he had to say of it:

"Materials, such as clothing, skin and weapons, are startlingly well-defined. The character animations are very human, whether your buddies are sauntering casually or crawling along on their bellies under enfilading fire. When the combat begins, the sense of bullet impact as it smacks off brickwork is so palpable, it makes you want to duck. Frostbite 2 looks bloody magnificent – on the PC, at least. CryEngine beware."

I think we'll be hearing a lot about this one between now and October, when it comes out.
