Street Fighter fans hoping to see Yun and Yang made available to download to the console versions of Super Street Fighter IV received a boost today after producer Yoshinori Ono refused to deny that Capcom plans to add DLC characters.

Capcom confirmed the addition of Yun and Yang to the already bulging Super Street Fighter IV roster at the Tokyo Game Show's Tougeki fighting tournament – but only for the arcade version.

Attention now turns to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, released in April.

"In terms of making a major update version like Ultra Street Fighter IV, that's not something we're thinking about," Ono told Eurogamer.

"In terms of character additions, I don't want to be kicked by the PR."

Ono has said in the past that Super Street Fighter IV marks the final entry in the Street Fighter IV series.

But in interviews the enthusiastic developer has always left the door open for the addition of new characters and balance changes.

"At the moment, as you know, we're working on the arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV," Ono added.

"I suppose once that's done, in terms of Super Street Fighter IV franchise, that might be it for now. The rest I'm not able to say."

Capcom was unable to comment when contacted by Eurogamer.
