Watch Assassin's Creed Valhalla running on Xbox Series X

You've got norse reason not to.

It's been a week since Ubisoft revealed Assassin's Creed Valhalla, its upcoming Viking-set entry into its historical stabathon series.

Back then, we were treated to a gorgeous CGI trailer showing Valhalla main character Eivor's journey from snowy Norway to raid and battle Alfred the Great in dark ages Britain. Today, we got to see how it all looks in action - as well as confirmation it will offer Smart Delivery (so you get both Xbox One and Series X versions at no additional cost for upgrading).

For much more on the game, I talked to Ubisoft about how Assassin's Creed Valhalla reshapes the series' RPG storytelling by giving you a Viking settlement. We also got confirmation of returning romance gameplay, mythological elements and modern day storyline.

Oh, and you can also play as a female version of Eivor - although we've only seen her so far via a statue in the game's collector's edition.
