Play Expo returns to Manchester's EventCity next weekend, 12th and 13th October, and organisers have announced that attendees will be able to go hands-on with all sorts of upcoming games, including Assassin's Creed 4 on PS4.

Tickets are still on sale for the event for individual days or the whole weekend, and if you're heading along then you can also look forward to playing Dark Souls 2, Oculus Rift and a host of Nintendo titles, including Super Mario 3D World and Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

Those are all in the now.play section of the Expo, but there's a lot more on offer besides. The re.play area will be home to all sorts of retro consoles and arcade machines, as well as a PC LAN zone for playing games like Quake, Unreal Tournament and Command & Conquer, pro.play will be home to fighting and sports game tournaments and there's cos.play as well, including workshops, panels and competitions.

Check out the Play Expo website for more details on the line-up, tickets and travel.
