Tony Hawk board is "not finished"

Should be white, "iPod-like."

Tony Hawk: Ride developer Robomodo has said the skateboard peripheral we’ve seen is "not finished" yet and won't end up being black and grey after all.

"The board we've shown so far is like the Darth Vader of skateboards, it's not the finished peripheral," Josh Tsui told GamesIndustry.biz. "We're going with a white board which is more consumer friendly. It's much more iPod-like, for want of a better term.

"With the white one people inadvertently step on it, but they don't do that with the black one," he added. "That's part of the industrial design of the board, to make sure people know it's a skateboard, but it also looks friendly."

Tsui believes the board is "the most advanced peripheral on the market", and that it "will really kick-start "a next-generation of controllers for games".

The Tony Hawk: Ride board peripheral can be seen in action over on Eurogamer TV.

Tony Hawk: Ride is in development for PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. There is no release date, although we expect the game to arrive later this year.
