Including tips on how to create your Fatemaker!

In Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, your Fatemaker can be one of six different classes and your choice will help determine your combat style.

While creating your Fatemaker, you'll also have to choose a Character Background, which has an effect on your starting Hero Stats. These stats are increased by using Hero Points and each class has a set of preferred Hero Stats suited around their specialisms.

Below you'll find both the best Hero Stats for each class and everything you need to know about the multiclass system.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Class List

There are six classes for you to choose from in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and which one you pick will help determine your combat style throughout the game.

Here are the six classes you can choose from:

  • Brr-Zerker - Focuses on Frost and Melee damage, ideal for fighting in close combat
  • Clawbringer - Focuses on Fire and Lightning damage and has a Wyvern Companion
  • Graveborn - Focuses on Dark Magic, has a Demi-Lich Companion and an Action Skill which sacrifices health to deal Dark Magic damage
  • Spellshot - Focuses on Spell damage, increasing Fire Rate and can eventually equip two spells
  • Spore Warden - Has a Mushroom Companion and causing Gun damage
  • Stabbomaner - Alternates between all forms of damage and specialises in dealing both Critical Hits and Status Effects

A seventh class will also be added during the fourth content drop from the Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Season Pass.

How important is the class choice in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands?

The class you pick during Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' Character Creation is very important, because that class will be your primary class and not be changed at any point. As you progress through the game (or campaign, as it were) you'll unlock the ability to multiclass and have a secondary class, which you can learn more about further along.

It's important to note that, unlike the mainline Borderlands games, each individual class only has one Skill Tree, which you'll focus upon until you choose a secondary class. Each class also has two Action Skills and one Class Feat.

Once you've picked a secondary class, you'll have two Skill Trees, two Class Feats and four Action Skills - though the fourth Action Skill will have to be unlocked by levelling up your Fatemaker.

If you'd like to learn more about the classes - including their Action Skills, Class Feat and Passive Skills - visit the official Tiny Tina's Wonderlands website.

Character Background in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands explained

Your Character Background provides buffs or debuffs to certain Hero Stats in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands - adding or taking away from the initial 10 Hero Points you get for each stat. There are five Character Backgrounds to choose from and you select it after customising your Fatemaker.

It's a good idea to try and match your Character Background with your chosen class; the Village Idiot Character Background, for example, is a good choice for the Clawbringer class thanks to how it buffs your Strength stat, which is an important stat for this class.

If you'd like to learn which Hero Stat is best for each class, visit the next section.

Here are all five Character Backgrounds, along with the buffs and debuffs each one provides:

Hero Stats and Hero Points: Best stats for each class in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands explained

There are six Hero Stats - Attunement, Constitution, Dexterity, Intelligence, Strength and Wisdom - in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Each Hero Stat covers an essential part of combat, from your chance of landing a critical hit to your maximum health, and certain stats are better suited for specific classes.

Your initial Hero Stats are affected by your chosen Character Background, which you can learn more about in the section above.

Hero Stats are increased by assigning Hero Points that are earned by levelling up your Fatemaker. During Character Creation, though, you'll be given 10 Hero Points which can be assigned however you like.

Below you can find all six Hero Stats, along with which aspects of combat they increase and which class is preferred for each stat:

Multiclass in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands explained

As you progress through Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, you'll eventually unlock the ability to multiclass and have a secondary class. For us, this option unlocked after completing the 'Emotion of the Ocean' mission when we were Level 13.

We unlocked the secondary class after completing 'Emotion of the Ocean.'

After choosing your secondary class, you'll be granted access to its Skill Tree, Class Feat and Action Skills. It's important to note that, for us, the second Action Skill unlocked at Level 17, so you may have to do some levelling to have full access to your secondary classes' abilities.

You can also now invest Hero Points in your secondary classes' Skill Tree, allowing you to add more Passive Skills to your rooster.

We recommend taking the time to carefully consider your secondary class - do you want to have a pairing which compliments each other or the ability to increase a specific type of damage? You could also pick a class to solely unlock a specific Action Skill or Class Feat, such as unlocking the Spore Warden's Mushroom Companion.

Once you've completed the main campaign, you'll unlock the ability to change your secondary class, but not your primary class.

Tips for choosing your class in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

Here are some tips which will help you create your Fatemaker in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands:

  • Consider the type of combat you prefer to play. If, for example, you prefer range combat, then the Spellshot class is a far better choice than the Brr-Zerker class.
  • Carefully read through the Action Skills and Class Feat, because you'll be relying on them a lot - especially the Action Skills.
  • If you'd like to know the Passive Skills for each class, visit the Classes page on the Tiny Tina's Wonderlands official website.
  • Take the time to look at all six classes to get an idea about which one you'd like as your secondary class once you've unlocked the multiclass ability.
  • Make sure you invest Hero Points in your chosen classes' preferred Hero Stats.
  • Remember - you can go back and forth in the Character Creation Mode. This means if your Character Background affects your classes' preferred Hero Stats, you can easily change it.
  • You can always experiment with the different classes - playing the opening hour to get an understanding for their combat style - before making your true Fatemaker. This may also help you choose your secondary class.

Have fun in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands!
