THQ does own Homeworld

Has rights but cagey on plans.

THQ has confirmed to Eurogamer that it now has the rights to the Homeworld brand, although it's cagey over what exactly it is doing with it.

"THQ currently owns Relic, which in turn means that we now have the rights to the Homeworld brand," a spokesperson for THQ told us, echoing a statement made to Next Generation.

"However, at this time we have no comment on any future games from THQ based on Homeworld."

Yesterday keen-eyed Internet detectives dredged-up legal papers showing that THQ was now calling the Homeworld shots rather than Vivendi.

THQ acquired developer Relic Entertainment back in 2004, and has since released the critically acclaimed Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War and Company of Heroes series of games.
