There are 13 Shiv Doors spread throughout The Last of Us Part 1. As the name suggests, you'll need a special shiv to jimmy them open, but these handy tools are in short supply in this post-apocalyptic world.

It's worth busting through these doors in The Last Of Us Part 1 if you can though, as a generous selection of valuable parts, ammo, health kits and supplements can be found on the other side of each one.

The Outskirts shiv door locations in The Last Of Us Part 1

Below you'll find all of the shiv door locations in The Outskirts chapter of The Last Of Us Part 1:

  • Downtown - Look for the white door to your right, just after you've been attacked by the first Clicker (cutscene). Head through the door in front of you and look for a doorway to the left as you go in. There’s a metal door there.
  • Museum - Once you've become separated from Tess and Ellie, enter the cafe that's to the left of the room with the horse statue. The door you need is on the right as you enter.

Bill's Town shiv door locations in The Last Of Us Part 1

Here you'll find all the shiv door locations in the Bill's Town chapter of The Last Of Us Part 1:

  • The Woods - When you enter town after the woods, look for the building to your left after the second drop. (this is after the woods. Clicker in shed).
  • The Woods - After making your way through the town, you'll encounter a Clicker that detonates a trap of Bill's. Go around the corner from here and the Shiv Door will be on your left or right, depending on which way you approached it. If you approached it from the main street, it’s around the corner to your right.

Pittsburgh shiv door locations in The Last Of Us Part 1

There are four shiv doors to find in the Pittsburgh chapter of The Last Of Us Part 1:

  • Alone and Forsaken - Enter Kingston Bookstore, then go to the second floor up. You'll find the next Shiv Door inside Rivers Cafe, to the right.
  • Alone and Forsaken - After the cut-scene, when Joel's hiding behind the taxi, look for the taxi door with a red X marked on it.
  • Financial District - Head to the back-room of the Credit Union with the Irrational Depot sign over it. The Shiv Door you're looking for is here.
  • Escape the City - After you've met up with Sam and Henry, head down the corridor and into the stairway area. After going one flight down, look for the wooden Shiv Door right in front of you.

Tommy's Dam shiv door location in The Last Of Us Part 1

This is where you can find the shiv door in the Tommy's Dam of The Last Of Us Part 1:

  • Hydroelectric Dam - There's a point in this part of the story where you need to turn a valve. The door is to the right of this valve.

The University shiv door location in The Last Of Us Part 1

Below you'll learn where to find the shiv door in The University chapter of The Last Of Us Part 1:

  • Science Building - After you've clambered into the building via the truck, head down the corridor, then past the doors and the vending machine until you reach the end. The Shiv Door is in the furthest right-hand corner. It’s labelled “Lecture Room.”

Lakeside Resort shiv door location in The Last Of Us Part 1

You can find one shiv door in the Lakeside Resort of The Last Of Us Part 1:

  • Cabin Resort - Head over the road from the petrol station (playing as Joel), you’ll find a motel. Search it until you come to a hotel room with a missing door. Climb through the broken bathroom window and the door you're looking for is to your left.

Bus Depot shiv door location in The Last Of Us Part 1

Here's how to find the shiv door in the Bus Depot chapter of The Last Of Us Part 1:

  • Underground Tunnel - After Ellie opens the door ahead of you both, open the Shiv Door on your right before heading into the tunnel on the left.

The Firefly Lab shiv door location in The Last Of Us Part 1

There's one final shiv door to find in The Firefly Lab of The Last Of Us Part 1:

  • The Hospital - The final Shiv Door is located on the second floor of the building. Go around the right-hand corner to find it, it’s near the surgeon’s recorder artifact.
