The Elder Scrolls Online is free to play tomorrow through Sunday

UPDATE: Xbox One trial begins this week.

UPDATE 22nd November 2016: The Elder Scrolls Online is free to play on Xbox One this week.

The trial begins at 5am on Wednesday, 23rd November, and runs through to the end of this weekend. You need to be an Xbox Live Gold subscriber.

To download ESO, visit the Xbox Store from your system and locate The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. Once it's finished downloading, you can begin playing immediately (the full game is around 80GB, so make sure you have space on your hard drive.) You'll also receive 500 crowns to spend on whatever you'd like in the Crown Store after you create your account.

ORIGINAL STORY 15th November 2016: The Elder Scrolls Online is going to be free to play between 16th-20th November on PS4, PC and Mac.

The PS4 free weekend will begin in just over an hour at 12.01am UK time on the 16th. The PC and Mac version will follow at 6am GMT.

Better yet, PlayStation Plus is not required to participate in this limited trial.

The free play weekend will include full access to The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited along with 500 crowns to buy various in-game goods. Any progress made during the free weekend will carry over to the full game should players purchase it after.

Participating in the free weekend also allows players to sign up for a drawing for an all expense paid trip to one of the locations that inspired The Elder Scrolls Online. Winners can choose between visiting the Alps, Africa, Machu Picchu, Morocco or New Zealand.

To commemorate The Elder Scrolls Online's free weekend, all versions of the game and Crown Packs will be discounted through 24th November on PS4 and 28th November on PC.

A free weekend for Xbox One players will follow, but details on that have yet to be announced.
